Scheming and Plotting.... Baby Knits.

A friend of ours is having a baby... a long awaited for and very precious baby, for which I feel the need to knit...

I wanted to use this fine 4 ply that I have in my stash

http://www.morrisandsons.com.au/catalog/multi_info.php?cPath=1_363_1546&multiID=1546

However, as I commenced my hunt for patterns I discovered that there are hardly any baby patterns out there for 4 ply. They are all 8-12 ply, which I didn't want to use...

I finally found this book though; Cleckheaton No. 951. The patterns are really cute and pretty simple so it won't take long once I get going.

Having gotten the bit very firmly between my teeth once again; this time
with baby stuff, I started looking at all sorts of baby patterns; hats in particular.
As I was searching the net for patterns I came across this website -

Now, as there are very few babies in and around my world at the moment, I think this will be a great way to have an endless outlet for knitting cute baby stuff as well as contributing to a worthy cause at the same time. Also, baby hats are a great way to use up left over yarn in ye olde stash.

In my search for baby hat patterns I came across this book. Now the
patterns are for 8 and 12 ply but they are so cute I couldn't resist...
Here are some of the patterns inside...

Looks like fun huh?
